Bill Scherbring, Ward 3 Council Member
Bill Scherbring was elected on November 5, 2019 to serve as the Council person for the third Ward.
Family
Bill grew up on a farm north of Earlville, Iowa and graduated from Edgewood-Colesburg Community Schools in 1981. Bill married Sue Brimeyer in 1989. They have four children and two beautiful grandchildren.
Work History
Bill learned his hard work ethic on the family farm. In 1979 he took a job off of the farm with Furniture King making deliveries, working in sales, and eventually becoming the manager. He worked with Furniture King for the next 18 years. In February 1998, Bill purchased Hart Furniture store in Manchester. The name was changed to Honey Creek Furniture and Flooring and Bill has been the proprietor there for the last 22 years.
Community Involvement
Bill and Sue moved to Manchester in the Fall of 1981. Bill has been dedicated to the safety and protection of the citizens of Manchester and Delaware County by serving as a member of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Reserve and the Manchester Fire Department. Bill obtained the rank of Captain as an officer for the Delaware County Sheriff’s Reserve, and has participated as a First Responder, Firefighter II, and a Fire Prevention Leader as part of the Manchester Fire Department. Bill has also served on the Manchester Chamber of Commerce Board.
